Usona Institute is a 501(c)3 medical research organization dedicated to supporting and conducting basic, pre-clinical and clinical research to further the scientific understanding and therapeutic application of consciousness-expanding medicines. 

Our focus is the treatment of society’s most challenging mental health conditions for which existing treatments fall short.

Our commitment to sustainability guides us towards a future marked by resilience and enduring environmental stewardship. At Usona, sustainability is a daily practice and a shared responsibility to reduce carbon footprint, minimize water use, and prevent waste. This mindset is embedded in the work that we do each day and is demonstrated in our relationships with our supplier networks, campus guests, and manufacturing partners.  

Quality Assurance

Usona Institute’s Quality Assurance (QA) function has made substantial, measurable progress throughout 2025 in strengthening the quality system, advancing inspection readiness, and integrating innovative tools to improve operational efficiency. 

Across the year, the QA team: 

  • Expanded QMS capabilities through updated procedures and improved workflows 

  • Conducted key vendor audits 

  • Launched an Inspection Readiness Program; key vendors maintain regulatory inspection-ready status 

  • Integrated AI-enabled tools to support and streamline quality processes 

  • Sustained strong training compliance with intervals of 100% completion
